Is the price published on their website?
A published price lets you compare without sales pressure and gives you a verifiable starting point. If it is not published, request it in writing, all-inclusive, before handing over your data.
Expected answer: a total yearly or monthly figure, in writing, without "it depends, call us".
Do I own the GPS device, or is it rented?
If the device is rented, switching providers costs you removal, returns and starting over. If you own it, your investment travels with you.
Expected answer: "the device is yours from day one" or the buyout cost in writing.
Is there a minimum contract term or exit penalty?
Lock-in periods exist to retain you when the service alone does not. A no-lock-in contract forces the provider to earn your renewal every year.

Is SUTRAN and OSINERGMIN retransmission included, or billed separately?
If your operation moves cargo, passengers or fuel, regulatory retransmission is not optional: it is the reason you need GPS. Some providers bill it as a monthly extra.

Do they accept the GPS devices I already have installed?
If they force a full hardware swap to migrate, the real cost of switching doubles and you stay locked in. A multi-brand provider can take over your fleet as it is.

Which SIM card does the GPS use, and who pays for it?
Every GPS needs a SIM with mobile data, and someone pays for that SIM every month. If the SIM is 2G, it will go silent as carriers finish shutting that network down. Multi-carrier matters: Claro, Movistar, Entel and Bitel coverage varies by area.

What does support look like when the GPS fails on a Sunday?
A GPS proves itself the day of the theft, not the day of the sale. An office-hours call center does not cut an engine at 2 a.m.

GPS with or without a monthly fee: which is better?
What matters is not the label but the total yearly cost and what it includes. An annual service from S/600 equals from S/50 a month with no drip and no surprises. What is MTC homologation of a GPS and how do I verify it?
