The three pains of every rent a car

The car that doesn't come back

The renter stops answering and the car keeps moving. Without GPS it's a blind police report; with GPS it's a live location you share with the police.

Recovery

Declared mileage vs real mileage

If you charge per kilometer or set mileage limits, without GPS you bill blindly. An odometer can be argued with; a GPS history can't.

Billing

Damage nobody admits

The car comes back dented and "it was like that". With route, speed and stop history you have evidence of where the vehicle went and how it was driven.

Evidence

What does GPS for your rental fleet include?

Real-time location

Your whole fleet on one map. Every rented unit visible from your office or your phone.

Geofences with alerts

Define the allowed zone (Lima, a region, an authorized route) and get an instant alert if the vehicle leaves it.

Mileage and reports

Real kilometers per rental contract, with downloadable reports. Charge excess mileage with evidence, not estimates.

Remote engine cut-off

On theft or non-return, immobilize the unit from the platform. The cut-off applies safely once the vehicle is stopped.

Disconnection alert

If someone disconnects the battery or tampers with the device, you get an alert and the GPS keeps transmitting on its backup battery.

History retained 12 months

Routes, stops and speeds for every contract. Your backup in disputes over damage, fines or tickets, even months later (on-platform reports up to 90 days).

Is it legal to put GPS in a rental car?

Yes. The vehicle belongs to your company and protecting your assets is legitimate. Best practice is disclosing it in the rental agreement: besides transparency, the notice deters misuse and theft.

Rent a car frequently asked questions

Is it legal to put GPS in a rental car in Peru?

Yes. The vehicle is your company's property and monitoring it is a legitimate asset-protection measure. Best practice is including a clause in the rental agreement disclosing that the unit has GPS: it adds transparency and deters misuse.

What do I do if the client doesn't return the car?

You watch the live location, share the route with the police for the report and, once the vehicle is stopped, you can immobilize it with the remote engine cut-off. The backup battery keeps the signal alive even if they disconnect the car.

Can I restrict where the rented car circulates?

You can define up to 20 geofences per unit (for example "Metropolitan Lima only" or an authorized route) and receive an immediate WhatsApp alert if the vehicle leaves the zone. GPS doesn't physically block the way, but it warns you instantly so you can act.

How do I charge excess mileage with evidence?

The platform records each unit's real kilometers, with reports up to 90 days. You download the report for the contract period and charge the excess with data the client can't dispute.

Can the renter disconnect the GPS?

The device is installed hidden and has a backup battery: if someone cuts the power, you get a disconnection alert and the GPS keeps transmitting. Tampering is also recorded in the history.

How many vehicles do I need to sign up?

From 1. The published price is from S/600 per year of service per vehicle, and it improves if your fleet is large. No lock-in: add or remove units by season.

Does it help lower my fleet's insurance cost?

Many insurers in Peru require GPS to activate theft coverage, and some improve terms with monitoring installed. We provide the installation certificate your broker needs.

What if my cars already have GPS from another provider?

If the devices are 4G and working, we integrate them into our platform without changing hardware: we're multi-brand (Teltonika, Concox, Sinotrack, Coban and more). Switch providers without rewiring your fleet.
